Jefferson ran the Liberty Theater in St Helena, Palisades Market in Calistoga, and helped open Taylor’s Refresher in San Francisco before joining the family business. Aside from doing “everything but making the wine” here at Karl Lawrence, he spends his time playing bocce, making beer, and fighting fires at the Suisun City Fire Department. |

Mike states that he weaseled a job on the harvest crew at Sequoia Grove nearly ten years ago and has been doing whatever Michael Trujillo asks of him ever since. Mike's driving purpose with Karl Lawrence is to continue to make a consistent product should Michael Trujillo be hit by a train, or succumb to any other unforeseen tragedy.

Pete is a retired labor negotiator of thirty-four years. He finally wanted to put smiles on people’s faces. So he decided to start pouring wine. It’s a change from the world of suits. He now wears sandals; lose fitting black shorts (really a swimming suit), and his Karl Lawrence cap. Instead of dealing with labor relations, he talks about Karl Lawrence and how it fits in to the more than one and a half centuries of winemaking in the Napa Valley. (Ask him to tell you about the Gallo’s in Napa Valley back in the ‘50's and ‘60's.)

Starting at an early age, Richard Trujillo, known as "RT" by his friends, has always had his hand in farming and ranching. Throughout the ‘60's, ‘70's and ‘80's Richard owned, farmed, ranched, and managed over 2,500 acres of agriculture and livestock in Southern Colorado. After retirement, Richard ventured to the Napa Valley to visit his son and help with the 1992 harvest. That harvest turned into many more to follow. As you may have surmised, RT is a very handy fellow and now makes all kinds of goods out of used winemaking refuse.
